October 25, 2009 - EMILY MADDISON TO COMPETE AT SKUSA SUPERNATIONALS
The young and talented Emily Maddison from Calgary. Alberta, Canada will compete in her first career Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals this
coming November at the RIO-All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Travelling south of the border with her Overdrive Motorsports team,
Maddison is set to do battle with some of the world’s best in the TaG Junior category.
Maddison, who turned 15 this past week, will be
aboard a Snow Racing Engines powered PCR chassis in her fight for Vegas glory. Turning the wrenches for Maddison will be long time tuner and
International Karting Federation (IKF) Grand National winner Clayton Snow. Maddison and Snow have worked together a lot throughout the 2009 season
scoring multiple strong finishes along the way in both the United States and Canada.
“I am really looking forward to racing at the
SuperNationals event in Las Vegas,” stated Emily Maddison. “With the cold here and the snow starting to fall, it will be good to get
somewhere warm and back behind the wheel again. The SuperNationals is the biggest race of the year, and I can’t wait to be a part of
it.”
Competing in Canada throughout 2009, Maddison travelled to the United States to contest in the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas
(COA), IKF Region 7 races, Gatorz Karting Cup claiming a fifth place in the overall points chase and select events in the Championship Karting
International (CKI) program. Racing in both the IAME Junior and Rotax Junior categories, Maddison has no fear of banging wheels with the boys as she
can normally be seen at the front of the pack.
While racing in Canada, Maddison competed in the Western Canadian Championship (WCC) program and
could be seen at the front of the pack. Scoring pole positions and podiums, Maddison ran into some bad luck in a few series events to finish sixth
overall in the season point standings. Making up for her results at WCC, Maddison also gathered seat time at her local club series at Varsity Speed
Park in Calgary, Alberta. Maddison was the driver of the series claiming her second championship in as many seasons on the strength of seven victories
in ten events in the Rotax Junior class. Maddison was also the first ever female champion (2008) in the Calgary Kart Racing Club (CKRC) and with this
year’s championship she became the first female double champion in series history.
Emily would like to thank her current supporters and
sponsors: Overdrive Motorsports, PCR Karts and Snow Racing Engines. A special thank you has to go out to Overdrive Motorsports Team Manager Joey Guyon
and tuner Clayton Snow for all of their help and support throughout 2009.
