January 3, 2010 - EMILY MADDISON TO COMPETE AT GATORZ CHALLENGE OF THE AMERICAS

PCR and Overdrive Motorsports driver Emily Maddison has confirmed her participation in the 2010 Gatorz Challenge of the Americas. The female competitor from Calgary. Alberta, Canada will compete in the series for the second consecutive season as she looks to challenge for race wins and the series championship.

Maddison, who also competed in the Gatorz Karting Cup in 2009, will be aboard an Overdrive Motorsports powered PCR chassis in her fight for the championship. 2009 tuner Clayton Snow will be back with Maddison as the duo looks to work together for another strong season of results.

The Canadian pilot showed drastic improvement in 2009 as she spent the majority of the summer behind the wheel of a racing kart. Driving both a Rotax Junior and a TaG Junior package, Maddison competed in the Western Canadian Championships (WCC), Gatorz Challenge of the Americas (COA), Gatorz Karting Cup, Calgary Kart Racing Club (CKRC) and select Championship Karting International (CKI) and International Karting Federation (IKF) events. The Canadian driver became the first ever female to claim a championship at the CKRC in 2008 and followed it up in 2009 with a repeat title in Rotax Junior.

“I am really looking forward to competing in the Gatorz series again,” stated Emily Maddison. “The Gatorz championship is very competitive and provides some great racing action. This may be my last year as a junior driver so I am looking to make it my best year yet.”

The Gatorz Challenge of the Americas is a three-month series that competes throughout January, February and March. With races in Arizona, Southern California and Northern California, Maddison will visit three tracks that she has garnered laps of experience and will look to use that in her quest for 2010 glory.

Emily would like to thank her current supporters and sponsors: Overdrive Motorsports, and PCR Racing Karts. A special thank you has to go out to Overdrive Motorsports Team Manager Joey Guyon and tuner Clayton Snow for all of their help and support throughout 2009.
